What is Empty Bowls?

Empty Bowls is an international effort to fight hunger. We are fortunate to have this program right here in Denton for the benefit of our community.

Empty Bowls is a fundraising luncheon where ticket-holders select a handcrafted bowl of their choice, and are served bread and delicious soup...a ministry of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church in Denton.

All proceeds from this benefit are given to assist the Denton Community Food Center and Our Daily Bread together with Monsignor King Outreach Center in Denton.

Since 2000, 100% of the proceeds have been donated to Our Daily Bread and Denton Community Food Center to fight hunger in Denton.

Get Involved

Contact the church office if you want to be involved. Professional artists of all kinds can help; from potters who donate bowls, to artists who glaze and fire bowls, to professionals in other media who promote the event. If you're not an artist, then you can still help us raise money to feed the hungry in Denton.

We have already begun to collect bowls and artwork for the next luncheon. We would also love to make a presentation to your group, about the needs of the hungry in our community, and how you can help.
